¡He incorporado nuevos tejidos a las BOMBERS REVERSIBLES PERSONALIZADAS.
Do you know what? Besides designing, sewing and never having a break, I also watch TV. And you? What do you watch on TV? (apart from dating reality programmes... But I do not judge you! So you do not have to pretend)
Of course I am in favour of fashion having a main role in the media, mainly on TV. It is obvious that I often watch programmes about activities related to sewing. Despite they don't show they way we work really, watching known faces living embarrassing and glorious moment is quite entertaining.
We could talk about the best moments of these programmes, but what I really wanted to tell you about is something that touched me. It was the documentary I watched on the Spanish programme
"La Noche Temática: Rebelión en la Moda"
The documentary starts by remembering April 24th 2013, when the Rana Plaza in Bangladesh fell down. 1135 workers were buried under the rubble after having been exploited by the big fashion companies.
ILUSTRACIÓN DE PEDRO STRUKJEL FUENTE: EL DIARIO.ES
Do you remember it? It is known as the 11S of fashion. It was a turning point for the way the fashion business was being developed. For many creators and activists that stood against globalization, and for what we know now as fast fashion.
Since its inception in Spain, many initiatives and volunteers have worked to improve conditions in this sector.
"Peaceful revolution" that requires this industry, which enslaves workers and consumes the resources that our children and grandchildren will need, a "clean industry" in its broadest sense.
If you dare to participate, through your social networks, or if you know who may be interested, I leave you this link from which you can download all the posters and images to share.
Could you answer that question? Do not blame you for looking at the tags. Or do it... I do not know... What I do know is that the creatives are looking for new paths which are far from working exploitation: knitting again, using recycled materials, reusing and refitting old clothes, vintage curtains that were not chosen years ago, for example, or even using 3D printers for new tailored garments. In all the cases, with high quality local business.
All cases, proud of their local label, of course.
As LR nowadays.
One of my ways is through textile collage. I create patch panels, with which I later build a garment.
As Lucía Rodríguez since I was a kid. My passion for patchworking and fabric scraps started when I was just a kid. I remember my mum refitting some trousers or a skirt and cutting its hem which I used to take. And I did something... I started creating complements with all those fabric scraps. That is how my brand was born. (One day, if you want to, I will tell you more about those little jewels and complements made of clothes).
I created my first collage T-shirts about a year ago. One day, having too many fabric scraps, I started cutting, sewing, trying... and it seemed I got something beautiful. A mixture of chance, designing, recycling... and of going back to that part of the work that is detailed and creative, which we sometimes forget about among patterns and big garments.
I do not only get excited with big fabric rolls (you can see in my stories my reaction with new findings) but also with giving life to every little fabric scrap that I always have in my atelier.
This is one of my latest creations made with the textile collage technique.
In fact, I would love to share my excitement with you... and some tips to understand the quantity of garments you can create with you own hands.
Would you like it?
Then, we have an appointment on April 10th at la Manolita (Calle Mayor de Zaragoza). Save that Saturday morning from 10h to 14h and write it in your agenda: COLLAGE T-SHIRT WORKSHOP. Let's have fun, let's create!
If for this day, you can't find a place, don't worry! that we will shortly release the date for May. But watch out! If you don't want to get lost.
Here you can subscribe to my newsletter, and thus be aware of everything that happens in LR.
Think about it: You, me, fabric scraps... As in Casablanca: "I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship".
With the end of winter (am I being too optimistic?), we welcome the season of the year in which we like wearing and showing different types of fabric and prints with the unique LR signature!
Because I guess we agree on this: when Pilar Palomero wears LR, you notice that! We will dress her Goya awards if she wants!
And if you also wear LR, everybody notices!
It is even better (forgive me, my sweatshirts) if the garment you wear is one of my customized two-sided bomber jackets, the star of my collection!
And besides ... (drum roll) ...
I just launched an exclusive PRE-ORDER for two-sided Bombers, and what does this mean?
It is a win to win, you help me with a concrete and sustainable production, in which I do not generate stock, and I will help you and thank you for your patience and trust with a special price, free shipping, and ... A surprise gift that I will make for you.
The PRE-ORDER will take place from March 15 to 25, (both included).
Oh, my dear bomber jacket! How could I not love it? To start, it is like having two instead of only one!
I repeat, it is a two-sided jacket.
You turn it inside out and you have another jacket! (Just in case it was necessary to explain it... you never know how far from the 80s you are, haha)
Don't you love this type of garments? They are not easy to find, but once you get one of them, it turns into something unique. They are so generous! So sustainable, in fact (you know that it is one of my obsessions, and I want it be everybody's).
Choosing between one fabric or another every day is... like a seduction game for me! What would I feel like? Insinuating without showing, keeping the beauty inside... or letting the colours explode giving up to the importance of those fabrics which were used to living as secondary options?
Do you think you will have fun when you have to choose what side to wear your bomber jacket? Of course, you will, but fun starts now: choosing your inside and outside fabrics among all these:
you have organic raspberry cord fabric, black serge fabric, navy blue waffle fabric and the new organic denim (light blue).
And the best of all this...
You can choose among a lot of styles, flowers, geometric shapes and some Japanese fabrics. I must confess that oriental prints were the ones which gave the idea of creating the two-sided bomber jackets with these interesting linings. I started using them when a friend of mine travelled to Japan and she brought a wonderful fabric.
That may be your case and we can use your fabric to give your bomber jacket a special touch! In my opinion, everything that gives a special meaning to the garment is wonderful.
One day, I will tell you why I chose the fabrics I chose and that I continue choosing in little places, real or virtual, (like this amazing web https://japonerias.com/blog/motivos-graficos-japoneses-tradicionales/). Until then, I will wait for your decision among cranes, vegetation and psychedelia.
(Of course, you can go on reading although you have not decided between one style or the other yet, please)
The most important thing about your bomber jacket is already decided! But we have not finished yet: the details. Once the main fabrics are chosen..
How do you imagine it: black, raspberry, denim blue or navy blue?
And the zip for your bomber jacket: golden or silver?
Do not worry about the pockets, they will match the fabric you choose.
You cannot control your excitement, right?! In less than ten days, you will be showing off your bomber jacket which is like having two in one! And when you wear, it will be worth like a thousand jackets!
¿Maravilla no?

"The cave of time", "You become a shark", "Ghost hunter"...
You can see that the titles were quite clear although, as you went on reading, you could find a bad surprise in some pages. Nothing that could not be solved! You went back and tried not choose so badly and that was enough to get to a happy ending.
Why am I telling you all this? Because more than explorative hyperfiction juvenile literature (look at that!), my thing was doing EXACTLY THAT, but with the clothes I had or found. Some of my mum's clothes, my aunt's, trousers from the seventies changing into postmodern trousers, T-shirts with patches and add-ons to make them funny...
When I was in 8ºEGB (yes, I studied in the Spanish EGB system) I designed my own dress for the end of the school year. It was quite ugly: a wide-strap dress with a T-shirt underneath. But my animal spirit was already there: what I was looking for was distinction. And having fun, of course!
So today, in the middle of the 21st century, in the year 2021, I suggest something:
Let's play! As if we were in a role game developed in my atelier. Let me be your game master, yasss, or even better: your guardian in the fabric. And choose, choose and choose. In this adventure there are no traps. No decision will end up in drama! The only surprise will be unwraping the garment that we will have created together.
What I am telling you is: treat yourself and customize LR garments as you prefer!
Would you like to take a look at the different possibilities for the Heart Sweatshirt... Rainbow Sweatshirt... or even the customized two-sided bomber jackets? Please, BE MY GUEST!
And why this game?
It is not only for fun (fun for you and also for me, fun squared).
This is my suggestion for value: to give more value to a unique garment itself and that you value it more, too. Love it, spoil it, desire it. Because there is part of you in it. You can design your garment with me, choosing the pattern, prints, interior and exterior fabrics, colours of the cuffs, zippers... In short, you can give it your own twist, and MAKE IT REALLY YOURS.
Surprise me! Give it time because this is not like visiting a website, click to buy and that is all, tomorrow you will have it at your door. No. Where is the fun in that? This is completely the opposite. This is handcraft! Stop for a moment and think, get excited, hesitate and decide. And leave your preferences in my hands.

(Photo: tomislav medak/flickr/CC BY 2.0)
Me pongo emotiva y reflexiva.
]]>Follow me for more recipes (in this case, textile recipes).
And follow me because, through the reading of this story, I am going to take you to the beautiful island of Menorca, specifically to Favaritx lighthouse.
All this story (which was perfect despite everything) started in October: four days before heading off to our desired (and also deserved, it is not that bad that I am saying it) holiday.
It is exactly in that ongoing decompression period, before the beach break, when... Boom! My mind starts running, reactivating and creating new garments that, believe me, are better to launch inmediately before my head explodes!
And if a new fantastic fabric comes to me... We already have an unexpected capsule collection! To organize a spectacular photo shoot during my "holiday", I only, "only", need to make all the patterns for all the garments and prototypes... So, come on, let´s sew day and night!
This means: taking the plunge EXACTLY WHEN I was supposed to be thinking about that cocktail I was going to have in that cute beach bar. Well, it was the opposite to that!
And just like that, this hurried and inspired way, the collection was born. It boarded the plane with the last call for passengers flying to Menorca.
There are two different sweatshirts, a dress (with a spectacular triangular neckline), a scarf... and, of course, the mask!
Garments that had no name nor owners then, flying to a special place to be baptized far from my usual urban context.
And that place is exactly the one you can see in the photos: isolated from civilization, in the middle of s´Albufera des Grau, in the north part of the island, you can find Favaritx lighthouse. A spectacular lunar-like environment made of black and grey slate would be the perfect crib for my new coloured and checked creatures. I imagined them there before leaving and this way, they got their names. Allow me to introduce them...
Drum roll...
You have the main garments of the Favaritx collection!
ZIGGY unisex sweatshirt, which you can customize as you prefer, choosing between blouse sleeves (lighter, jean-coloured lyocell) or usual rib fabric sleeves (thicker, navy blue cotton)
Vivienne sweatshirt, designed for women. (Anyway, if you want it, I won´t stop you, man!)
And two more Vivienne: the scarf (so soft!) and the mask.
It is not that bad for four days before holiday. The truth is... who is not inspired when there is a trip being planned, right?
LR sweatshirts are back!
Maybe this sounds familiar to you: "I've spent three days with the same clothes" ["Ya he pasao tres días con la misma ropa puesta"].
Ha! Three days! sings C.Tangana… and three months too, don't lie to us: Those of the last confinement. I won't say that this will come back, but don't you think that when you're stuck at home you want to shelter from the cold outside? You want to curl up in the sofa like a cat, near the crackle of the fireplace (if you don't have a real one, you'll be ok with the one you'll find on Netflix) or teleworking in front of the computer.
So at ease... and so pretty.
What I mean, dear reader, is:
This is exactly why I'm here with a new proposal, LR : KILT sweatshirts. I have to say that this garment wasn't created to be "home clothing" or "cozy clothes". No way: It was born to triumph in the street.
In fact, my first sweatshirt hecho was born... this way: I made it last winter, it was the LR : KILT in black with red details. I really wanted to make this kind of garments, easy and classy at the same time, always looking for comfort. I think it was the garment I wore the most when I lived in Berlín. Of course, this is meant to bring memories and inspiration to mind. I'm sure this also happen to us, not only with my designs!
As I was telling you: I can already see you rocking your KILT when going to... I don't know!, to work in the store or to take a hot tea in a terrace and, suddenly, there they go the fashion lovers:
"Hey, what about this wonder, those Japanese sleeves and those contrast and geometry? And this amazing blue? And this fabric hairy inside, so soft and wintry?". They will tell you all of this (I will give them the script) so you'll be able to say "This is from Lucía Rodríguez, of course!". (You can say that or whatever you want if you have a creative day…)
But what I wanted to say from the beginning it's that I wanted to take advantage of this peculiar situation (and also a time to start thinking about Christmas gifts and self-gifts "because I deserve it") to reclaim the new? habit to look good at home. Not wearing that so pasty! garment that you don't want to throw into the old clothes can because you don't want to offend anyone... You know which one I'm talking about. Throw it away.
And get this one: Because LR sweatshirts are born with the Wow! effect to rock them everywhere. But if you're not going anywhere and you stay at home, there's no problem. Enjoy yourself! Fell yourself good, comfy, pretty, happy... That's the point, because that's also healthy, my friends.
For you to join this "new vision", I give you 10% off with free shipping, from November 12th to 26th, when I'll launch the new LR : KILT sweatshirt with blue fabric. Watch out! Because if you choose it in green, you can also enjoy this promo. And... if you're suscribe to my newsletter, you'll receive a surprise too!
I'll make it for you on-demand and you'll have it at home in a week! I hope you'll tell how and where you'll wear it. You have many option, either outdoors or indoors!
By the way! Look at the pics that Meri took to us in our trip to Menorca... I'll tell you more about the shooting and our collaboration with 2ManyFlowers in the next post!

One of the things I enjoy the most about my work is being able to create garments on a slow burn, giving them the time, work and love they deserve.
My manufacturing process is based precisely on that, on working on the basis of your needs and orders.
Producing under order has a lot of benefits... stay with me to discover some of them!
Having the chance to offer you a personalized service is one of the things that give meaning to my work and my creative process.
Every time I design a new garment, I do it thinking about offering you a piece in which you find that touch that makes it unique and special. A piece that allows you, in some way, to express yourself when you face the world.
Having the opportunity to listen to you and work on your garment in a personalized way gives me, without a doubt, the opportunity to make it really yours.
Production on demand is the complete opposite to the fast fashion trend that is so established in our society nowadays.
The fact of producing only what is going to be consumed makes, on the one hand, the garment enjoy its real value. The aim is not to produce massively to reduce costs, but to respect the value of all the processes involved in its production and, more importantly, the work of those behind it.
On the other hand, a model based on production on demand, without accumulating stock of the garments offered, will contribute to less material waste.
We are talking about the economic value of the garment, but also the personal and artistic value. For me — and probably for you too, if you are here reading this — each garment is unique, it's a way of expressing yourself to the world, it's a story.
This more abstract value can only be respected by working on each garment as what it is: an exclusive piece that goes directly from my hands to yours. Without intermediaries and without industrial processes, only with a handcrafted work and with much care.
For all this, I have decided to launch the pre-order system with my new two-sided bomber jacket IRO design with YURI fabric. A 100% cotton fabric that still reflects my passion for Japanese fabrics (in another post I will talk about why this passion and all the symbolism of these fabrics ...).
When you place an order in pre-order, it means that I will make the garment only and exclusively for you. That's why, in order to be able to dedicate the necessary time to pre-ordered products, I need a maximum of 15 working days to make your garment. Although I will always work hard so you can enjoy it as soon as possible.
To help you a little bit, I want to offer you a 15% discount and a free mask if you pre-order between October 15th and 30th.
I can't think of a better way to show you this new creation than from the hand of my dear Audrey Satan, to whom I can't be more grateful for these wonderful photos and for supporting responsible consumption.
She is one of the supreme bosses of Girly Girl Magazine, where she dedicates herself, along with her partner, to talk about the things that they like, worry about, love or simply happen to them, always from a gender perspective. If you are not yet familiar with this project, don't hesitate to stop by her profile to — inevitably — fall in love with it.

It's difficult to deny that we're living an unusual summer and that our reality is still far of what we know as "normal".
As you know, some months ago I started to design and make mi first LR Masks (I take advantage to say you a huge thank you for the support you've given to me and for all your orders. You're the best!). The thing is that I really wanted to keep expressing all these feelings in a new collection focused on the masks, an accessory that has —and will keep having— an essential place in our new normal.
However, this time I'm doing it from a different view. From the desire to get closer to my beloved Mediterranean, from the idea of giving life to masks, of seeing them traveling through that ideal summer so dreamed by many of us.
This is how Mediterránea is born, a capsule collection that I've designed from Zaragoza, but having my mind and my heart in this nice sea and, specially, in Granada and Barcelona.
In this limited edition you'll find new designs, forms, colors and fabrics. I keep looking for creativity and design without loosing sight of comfort, versatility and diversity so you can always have the chance to choose the best options for you.
This time, an editorial made by Marta Belev (here you can see her Instagram) that gives us a full of light and summer energy pictures. The models are Julia Soler and Sergi Berbel (THANK YOU)
As always, I hope you like it!
THANK YOU for reading me, for your support and for being at the other side. Let's enjoy the rest of the summer! :)
P.S. I've prepared a discount for you who want to buy this collection. You just need to use the code MEDITERRANEA and you'll enjoy 10% off :)

Hello!
I am Lucía Rodríguez and I am happy to launch this space in which I hope to get to know a little more about you and vice versa. If you do not know me yet, here I tell you a little more about me.
It would be impossible to start without mentioning the situation we all are in. These days we only talk about the virus that has arrived and has changed everything as we knew it before. However, something I cannot help doing is looking for the good in the bad.
I always try to find the positive side, I must say I am one of those people who have used this situation to think, to reorganise, to finally launch my website!
Moreover, during the pandemic, the idea of making masks came. It may seem something very simple at first sight, but very significant and a symbol of this moment we are living. . I wanted to create designs which were not typical and which made us forget the more unpleasant side of this story… I would like to say a big THANK YOU to all of you for the great reception.
In my case, creating these types of accessories has been like going back to my origin. The truth is, now that I think about it, I have been focused on designing and tailored orders and I need to be in contact with little pieces again. The creation of LR MASKS has allowed me to go back to the beginning, to the essence, to make complements and accessories which let our imagination free.
It is a versatile accessory which can be combined in many ways, not only types of fabric, but also different designs which have different ways to wear them (NINJA and AVIADOR models), because not everybody likes the same and what is comfy for somebody, may be uncomfy for another.
Combining the different types of fabric is not an easy task! You have to take into account the aesthetic factor and also the characteristics and the versatility of the fabric… But, that is where the beauty is! In having the opportunity to develop creativity and express the collage in every mask.
In short, I owe my LR Masks collection to this strange and bittersweet time, far from being a simple mask collection, it has somehow reactivated a part of my job which I had left behind and I truly love.
I cannot thank you all enough for trusting me!
We go on and we will have more posts to read.
